Wheel Throwing & Hand Building Course – Kids (6 Weeks) This 6-week ceramics course for kids offers a fun and creative introduction to both wheel throwing and hand building techniques. Students can choose to focus on either wheel throwing, hand building, or explore a mix of both throughout the course, depending on what they enjoy most. Over the 6 weeks, students will build confidence while learning how to create a range of functional and decorative ceramic pieces in a supportive studio environment. The course encourages creativity, experimentation, and hands-on learning. Wheel throwing students will learn foundational skills such as centering clay, shaping forms, and trimming, while hand building students can explore techniques including pinch pots, coiling, slab building, sculpting, and surface decoration. Course details: • Duration: 6 weeks • Class length: 2.5 hours per week • Suitable for kids and beginners • Students can choose between wheel throwing and hand building each session • Step-by-step guidance tailored to each student’s interests and skill level • Focus on creativity, form making, surface decoration, and glazing • Small class sizes for personalised support • All materials, glazing, and firing included • Students will be notified when their work is ready for collection Finished works will be ready for collection approximately 2–3 weeks after the course ends.
